The value of an invitation

Saar Shai made a solid point on Linkedin this week: hospitality talks a big game about feeling welcome… but rarely invites you anywhere.


Opening hour signs are, of course, helpful.
But an actual invitation? That’s what makes you feel seen.

Most hotels have things they wish guests would try.

The infinity pool, the spa, a great cocktail hour or even that weirdly good herbal tea. But instead, they stick up a sign by the lifts and hope someone notices.

Try making it personal instead. Like you’re inviting an old friend you haven’t seen in years.

'Open daily' doesn’t land the same as 'We’d love to see you, come by later.

'No one remembers bullet points. They remember feeling wanted.
